Retrospective Lab

Anonymity and psychological safety

A good retro lives or dies by honest input. That's why Retrospective Lab is designed to make anonymity easy, without sacrificing usability.

Anonymous contributions on boards

Participants can always add cards, react and vote anonymously on a board — no account is required and a name is optional. See joining without an account for how guests take part.

Reveal threshold in the team health check

In the team health check (Pro), anonymity goes a step further: individual answers are never shown. Results only appear once a reveal threshold of responses has been reached, so no answer can be traced back to one person.

Why this matters

Anonymity and the reveal threshold foster psychological safety: team members feel safe giving critical or sensitive feedback without fearing personal consequences. That leads to more honest retros and more reliable health check results.
