Retrospective Lab

Adding and grouping cards

During the collect phase of a retro, everyone writes cards in the columns of the template — for example Start, Stop and Continue.

Adding a card

Click add card in a column, type your point and confirm. The card appears instantly for all participants, live. You can add as many cards as you need — one topic per card keeps things clear.

Contributing anonymously

Participants can choose to contribute anonymously, so you won't see who wrote the card. That lowers the barrier to sharing difficult feedback. Read more about why that matters in Anonymity & psychological safety.

Grouping duplicates

As soon as multiple cards come in about the same topic, drag them onto each other to form a group. Grouping prevents the same feedback being discussed twice and stops votes splitting across near-identical cards. As facilitator you can do this during the collect phase, or set aside dedicated time for it in the group phase.

Next step

Once all cards and groups are in place, open the voting phase so the team can indicate what deserves the most attention. See Voting and the broader explanation in The phases of a retro.
